TAGS are pleased to invite you to a TAGS Funding & Innovation Workshop on 11th June 2015.
The event will be held at the European Commission, Brussels with the aim of identifying funding schemes on an EU, national or regional level to generate new projects in the field of textiles for an ageing society.

Textiles are an integral part of everyday life and are usually taken for granted, however they have a huge potential to support daily activities, and often the consumer does not realize their importance. The event will open with an overview of the TAGS project and the 4 topics of research we have investigated; bedding, clothing, hygiene and therapeutic textiles, with regard to the changing needs of an ageing population and demonstrate how textile based solutions can play an important role in supporting the well-being and quality of life for both the older person, and those that provide care for them.
The remainder of the day will provide you with an opportunity to share your experiences and discuss the specific challenges you face, in order to develop and implement multi-disciplinary consortium’s which in turn, will lead to new and innovative concepts in the area. This can range from: textile technology and the latest developments in material science, definition of new product proposals, how to formulate demands based on end-user requirements, identify the barriers which prevent innovation and how to better reach the market and the generation of joint research activities.
The types of professionals we are targeting to attend this day include:
Manufacturer’s, researchers, funding specialists, technology transfer institutions, health care professionals, textiles designers or producers, European platforms for both elderly or textiles, social scientists and end-users.
TAGS is an EU funded initiative under the FP7 Framework.
